A wide flat chain woven so the links all point one way, which gives it a ribbed surface instead of the smooth face of a herringbone. It is chunky, and it is meant to be: this is a bracelet you wear on its own and skip the rest. The ends are finished with tapered caps rather than a plain jump ring, so the chain narrows into the clasp instead of stopping abruptly.
